How I got 1,000,000 views in YouTube

A year and a half ago I started a youtube channel about video games, but it was hard to get views and subscribers with such a broad topic. I therefore thought it would be a good idea to specialize, and I found my niche with Sonic classic games.

I was very excited about the release of Sonic Mania. This game was taking the best of the 16 bit Genesis/Megadrive games. I had a SEGA Megadrive when I was a kid, and I remember how I felt when I got Sonic 2 as a Christmas present.

As human beings we love good experiences. We crave them in fact! That’s why, six month before the Sonic Mania release, I started the Block Surprise Sonic Mania Project.

This project was about the Sonic Mania Trailer. I edited in images and sequences creating different games with other famous videogames as a tribute. I created videos such as: Mario Mania, Crash Bandicoot Mania, Moonwalker Mania…

My audience grow fast after this project because like me, so many kids were also excited about the Sonic Mania release. The community started engaging me, making suggestions about future videos or giving me feedback about ways to improve.

I took all this feedback to continue developing my project and it seems that the Youtube algorithm rewarded me, giving me more views and subscribers. Actually, I reached almost 10,000 subscribers which led to Youtube becoming a small (but relevant) complement in my monthly salary! I am really happy about how this has developed. I will continue doing Sonic videos in order to entertain and express myself creatively.

Remember: Think different and follow your dreams.
